Working on a pic

I bought a new desk, set it up, finally feeling a bit better about working at my desktop computer, which is welcome. Smashed this out in 30 min, perceptive and value guides for an old sketch you might remember.

I think all the life-drawing I've been doing is paying off; I felt much more comfortable establishing value in monochrome in this pic. It's kinda an extension of my getting more comfortable working with greylead pencil.

I got a textured screen protector for my iPad and it’s made it a much nicer drawing experience. I think the stock hard glass surface has really low friction, which means you sorta need to grip the pen much harder to maintain line control, or it just wibbles all over and skates as off. Or at least that’s my experience.
