Unfortunately john and alicia nash both died unexpectedly in a car accident on May 23rd 2015 they were 86 and 82...this was a fantastic beautiful movie.

i very much agree with you Louis! thank you for recommending this movie, it was a gem! It reminds us a little bit of Forest Gump, bot on the opposite way! sometimes we all get to see beyond our judgment.. we wander into the darkness and overthink ourselves... the worst time is when we live a loveless life... only love can bring meaning where there is none.. i don't know how but is true. this movie proves that point the most. Happy Easter too!

ur right! Forest Gump was indeed a beautiful mind! but for this movie? i think that his wife that stayed beside him, had the most beautiful mind if you ask me, and him in the end for realizing it. Happy Easter Sam!

Wow! Awesome reaction guys. Glad you got the Harvey reference 🐰. You’re right, it is based on a true story with some cinematic license taken. I believe that the “Beautiful Mind” referenced in the title referred to John Nash’s ability to use his mind to reason past the delusions to aid his recovery enabling him to function in society. As Dr Rosen explained this was extremely difficult since his mind was the source of the problem in the first place. Joy’s comments that Alicia was the ultimate reason for John’s ability to recover was very insightful. The scene where Alicia allows John Nash to stay with her instead of committing him to a psychiatric hospital as Dr Rosen suggested marked the turning point in John’s life where he had the support he needed to deal with his illness. Alicia’s selfless love for John was nothing short of amazing. She is the real hero in the movie. Happy Easter!!!

I've seen this movie 5 times before watching it with you both. I always end up asking the same question mid-way into the film when Alicia decides to stay with John at the house -- 'If a soul mate cannot leave the other's side, even in the face of a nearly lost identity and mind, after all is said and done in genius, which of them is the beautiful mind?' After watching the movie with you here, I realized something; another beautiful mind, Forest Gump, might have the answer when he talked about what destiny is -- 'Maybe... maybe it's... both. Maybe both is happening at the same time.' :-) Happy Easter!

So pizza has been around a loooong time🍕 Update: As for the film, I just finished watching it with you for a second time and while watching it, I noticed something I haven't before: When Charles comes back to visit John with the little girl (Marcee I think). She goes off chasing pigeons, but they don't fly away, proving she is not real... A small detail which is quite good and I loved that, because it's something he could have realized since the first thing we see him working on is an algorithm for pigeon movement. Makes you wonder if there are other details like this in the film. Happy Easter btw!!
