Donโt know if itโs been mentioned, but Connie Booth, the actress who plays Polly (the waitress) co-wrote Fawlty Towers, and I suspect had a big hand in this. She was also married to John Cleese at the time (yeah, she looks way younger than Cleese, but thereโs actually only a 1 year age gap between them!).
